Both my father and I own a Remington 870 shotguns. My father's springer spaniel's name is Remington. (I couldn't even make that up if I tried). I only get out to hunt pheasant 3-4 times a year but my father hunts pheasant every week in the winter. We aren't totally in love with the Remington brand but you can say we are well aware of what it stands for. So when I saw the "Great American Bird Hunt" by Remington I thought "how fitting, my father will love this" and that this would be a cool little diversion that might actually make him have a little fun with the Wii. Then after 30 seconds of play I was disgusted. Did the game designer (or the brand manager from Remington) even think for one second that a real hunter wouldn't be completely appalled that the trigger finger is on the wrong finger with no way to change it??? Seriously I can't believe they spent this much time designing a decent little plastic gun to not insert the 5 lines of code into the program (which I could probably write if they just gave me 2 minutes) to SWITCH THE TRIGGER FINGER to the one that you would use when you are hunting!!! I am too disgusted for words. If you are someone who has never held a shotgun in your life (and there are probably plenty of people people out there who play Wii that haven't...and I am not saying that is a bad thing) then you might not even notice. IF YOU HAVE EVER FIRED A SHOTGUN IN YOUR LIFE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS HORRIBLY DESIGNED GAME!!!!!!!!!
Oh and the game play sucks too but I am not even going to comment on that. No way to zero in the gun but I didn't even expect that after I realized that the 15 year old who coded this program couldn't figure out how to change the trigger setting. My wife who has never fired a gun in her life and hates guns thought that the idea to put the trigger where it is with no way to change it was the stupidest thing she had ever seen.
Remington I am seriously very very sorry that you put your brand name on this game. It cheapens your brand and actually angers a loyal customer like me. This makes me want to finally put up the money for the Browning over/under that I have wanted for a while and leave my 870 back for times when I just want to beat my way through the brush with a gun that I don't give a care about.
