$*$ Official Wii Component Video Cable

This cable thing does what it is supposed to do--enable your Wii to work with that progressive scan crap. Using their magic science, Nintendo has developed this cable to be very sturdy quality with nice, smooth, clean connectors that stick in to your TV with ease and sophistication. It's sorta expensive, but if you want the 480i to be the 480p, what else you going to do? Hot wire the damn thing yourself? You don't know how to make a cable like this, stop thinking thoughts like that.

The odd thing about this, however, is that since Wii is 480 resolution, some games actually look better in 480i mode rather than progressive mode. Progressive will sharpen your lines up, so playing certain games will give you a case of the worse aliasing (that is, the horrible jagged nightmarish sharp appearance of lines as little squares) you will ever experience. Gamecube games seem to look really terrible in 480p on my 32 inch LCD TV (they actually look pretty bad in both modes, though). However, if you're wanting to get the best detail, and you sit a bit far back from your TV, you probably won't notice, and if that is the case (or you don't actually care) I would tell you to please, sir or ma'am, purchase this item, and not a non-Nintendo cable, as they tend to burn out after a while.
