I have purchased three of these cameras for my daughters and all three of them broke in the first year of use. The screen broke on two of them, one in my daughters pocket and the other in her purse, they are ridiculously delicate cameras. The other one just stopped working, the lens froze in the out position. so I sent it in to Nikon because it was still under warranty. I just received the response. They said it was impact damage because it had a small dent in the corner. I don't know when that dent may have occurred but I don't think that's why the camera didn't work. It was working fine, I know because I was using it, I had been using it all day and then it stopped working, no impact was involved. Be advised that if something happens to your camera and you send it in to Nikon, make sure it has no scratches or dents, they will make that the cause of your camera malfunction, thus invalidating the warranty.
